A well-known broadcast journalist in the Mountain State and recent arrival to West Virginia University, Shauna Johnson has been named director of news communications for University Relations and Enrollment Management. Johnson joined WVU in April 2021 as the news and information manager for the UREM Office of Communications. In her new role, she serves a key position in the unit, providing day-to-day leadership in news and media relations operations, including crisis communications.

Dr. Peter Konrad has been named chair of WVU School of Medicine’s Department of Neurosurgery within the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Konrad, who joined WVU in 2020 after 22 years at Vanderbilt University, brings with him extensive expertise for world class patient care and clinical translational research, especially in neural engineering and neurological device technology and is eager to continue building on the substantial progress and growth of the department.
Marian Longstreth, a WVU School of Nursing faculty member, has received the 2022 Nomination for Platinum Level Nurse of the Year at WVU Medicine. She was nominated by her peers at WVU Medicine for all her hard work who specifically noted her Doctor of Nursing Practice project work.
