Sophomore Lily Haught finished first in the women’s 400 meters after posting a personal best time of 55.03 seconds Saturday (April 5) at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Virginia. In the 4x400 meter relay, sophomores Cate Pickering, Lily Haught and Kishay Rowe, and freshman Carlene Temple claimed first with a time of 3:46.43.
Athletics
The baseball team swept a doubleheader from Utah Saturday (April 5) at Kendrick Family Ballpark and, as a result, swept the series. The Mountaineers took game one, 6-4, before winning 14-4 in eight innings in the second game.
Running back Clay Ash, a sophomore from Leesburg, Virginia, is the winner of the 2025 Tommy Nickolich Memorial Award — an annual award that recognizes a walk-on football team member for attitude and work ethic.
Ross Hodge was officially introduced as the University’s 24th head men’s basketball coach Thursday (April 3).
The baseball team will host the Utah Utes for the first time at Kendrick Family Ballpark. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. today (April 4), 4 p.m. Saturday (April 5) and noon Sunday (April 6).
The tennis team faces Texas Tech at 11 a.m. today (April 4) and Colorado at 11 a.m. Sunday (April 6) at Summit Tennis Academy.
