Due to the significant growth of community engagement initiatives at the School of Nursing, Emily Barnes will serve as the associate dean for faculty practice and Angel Smothers will assume the newly established role of associate dean for community engagement.

Five nurses trained through the Faith Community Nursing initiative will work with churches in their respective communities to offer healthcare screenings, education, connection to resources and much more.
