All WVU-owned or -managed computers that are still using Windows 10 and cannot upgrade to Windows 11 must be replaced by Sept. 30. Machines that have not been upgraded or replaced by that date will be removed from the WVU network to eliminate security risks, except in extremely rare circumstances that will be scrutinized.

To ensure proper communication during an emergency, West Virginia University will conduct a test of the WVU Alert system at 1 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 29) on the Morgantown, Keyser and Beckley campuses.

In-person classes on the Morgantown Campus are beginning later in the day for a second day Wednesday (Jan. 22) due to ongoing frigid temperatures and icy conditions. In-person classes will start at 10 a.m. in Morgantown. All other on-campus operations are continuing as scheduled. In Beckley, WVU Institute of Technology is operating on a two-hour delay.
