Gordon Gee stands behind a wooden podium.  

The West Virginia University Board of Governors voted unanimously Monday (July 31) to extend President Gordon Gee’s contract one year through June 30, 2025. The decision came after Board members reviewed Gee’s performance in areas such as student success, research, health and welfare, and the University's role in the state’s economic development.

Along with the Hall of Fame recognition, an Outstanding Achievement Award will be given to an alum who has positively influenced students through their contributions to student life. The deadline for nominations is Friday (Aug. 4).
