Math Competition  

Nineteen of the highest performing high school math students from across the state traveled to WVU to prepare for the American Regions Mathematics League national math competition held on June 3 at Penn State University. While on campus, students explored different areas of competition math during sessions hosted by the WVU School of Mathematical and Data Sciences.

Media Arts  

West Virginia University will merge the College of Creative Arts and the Reed College of Media to create a new college focused on the future of arts and media education as part of a strategic repositioning of the entire WVU System for success in a challenging collegiate landscape.

Xingbo Liu  

Xingbo Liu, Statler College associate dean for research and chair of engineering, received an award for his contributions to developing hydrogen production technologies during the 2023 Annual Merit Review and Peer Evaluation Meeting.

Faini Philip  

Phil Faini, a staple at the College of Creative Arts for more than 40 years, passed away Wednesday (June 7) at the age of 91. Faini, referred to as “The Chief” by his students, launched the careers of hundreds of students as they contributed to the field of music in countless ways.

Summer Composition Academy  

Learn how to write music and develop your current composition skills at the WVU Summer Composition Academy slated for June 26-30 at the Canady Creative Arts Center. The academy is open to high school students and adults with beginner or advanced level composition skills and the only prerequisite is the ability to read music.
