West Virginia University’s Board of Governors gathered today (Dec. 16) kicking off a Commencement weekend of events on the Morgantown campus. “During our meetings through the year, we talk a lot about every detail of the University’s functioning — budgets, facilities, academic programs, employee policies, student recruitment. But each Commencement ceremony reminds us why we are here and how each decision we make culminates in better lives for our graduates and better futures for West Virginia.” — President Gordon Gee.
The meeting will begin at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 21) in the Bluestone Room of the Mountainlair and on Zoom.
Participants in the training from the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program can expect to learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations and where to turn for help.
This one-day event provides scouts an opportunity to earn merit badges while working with faculty and staff. Merit badges are awards earned by members of the Boy Scouts of America as they learn about sports, crafts, science, trades and more.
It was a milestone year that set the bar high for the future of business education as we brought our experiential learning mission to life in our new home, explored new research pursuits to solve global problems and experienced increases in enrollment and student placement.
