Dozens of researchers with University ties have helped unearth evidence of ripples in spacetime that have never been observed before now. The Department of Physics and Astronomy will host a watch party at 1 p.m. today (June 29) at White Hall, Room G09, in conjunction with a livestream event about the research from the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves, also known as NANOGrav.

Efforts to reposition WVU for the future continue through a “First Principles” approach President Gordon Gee outlined in his State of the University address this spring, one focused on students, the University’s land-grant mission and differentiation. Initiated by a charge from the Board of Governors, the work is addressing operational and academic areas of the WVU System and a structural budget deficit.
As part of University efforts to promote a more sustainable future for all Mountaineers, the Office of Sustainability will host its second book recycling collection for 2023 during the week of July 17. The deadline to request a pickup is Wednesday, July 12.
