Tension between science and religion is at the forefront of this year’s Campus Read “Transcendent Kingdom.” Join West Virginia religious leaders and scholars as they dissect the themes of the novel and how it relates to their specific field of study at 7 p.m. today (Oct. 16) in the Mountainlair, Gluck Theater.
The Center for Fraternal Values and Leadership and the WVU Alumni Association will induct the Zeta Class of 2023 into the Greek Alumni Hall of Fame at 2 p.m. Friday (Oct. 20) in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.
The meeting will be held at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday (Oct.18) at the Mountainlair, Bluestone Room.
Four accomplished undergraduate students and two recent graduates have been endorsed by WVU for nationally competitive scholarships. Jillian Blair of Wheeling was endorsed for both the Marshall Scholarship and Rhodes Scholarship. Bethany Prascik of Fairmont, Logan Riffey of Berkeley Springs and Gracan Tarley of Fairmont were endorsed for the Marshall Scholarship. Azeem Khan of Charleston and Riley “Red” Klug of New Martinsville were endorsed for the Rhodes Scholarship.
This new feature — an initiative led by the Office of Student Success, Information Technology Services and Talent and Culture — will aid the Office of Student Success in a number of ways, including identifying potential mentors for current first-generation students. It will also provide the office with valuable information on the number of first-generation faculty and staff at WVU to help illustrate the life-changing power of higher education.
