Tension between science and religion is at the forefront of this year’s Campus Read “Transcendent Kingdom” by Yaa Gyasi.
Join West Virginia religious leaders and scholars as they dissect the themes of the novel and how it relates to their specific field of study at 7 p.m. today (Oct. 16) in the Mountainlair, Gluck Theater.
Panel members include:
• Alex Snow, teaching associate professor of religious studies,
• Chris Sheitle, associate professor sociology and author of “Religion vs. Science: What Religious People Really Think,”
• Retired Rev. Mathew Cowden, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Virginia,
• Attorney Jon Reed, lead teacher of the Morgantown Buddhist temple.
