Starting today (Jan. 2), curated media links highlighting the University, its faculty, staff and students are available through MOUNTAINEER E-News in the new “In the News” section. Look for “In the News” in the weekday email and online at enews.wvu.edu.

MAP, Applaud and related services such as Web Clock, Leave Request and MyReports will be unavailable from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 6) for important system updates. Wall clocks will remain operational during this time for employees who need to record hours.

Community Music Program  

The Community Music Program is open to everyone — including beginners, amateurs and performers of all ages and levels — who wishes to enhance their daily lives with arts, explore new creative territories or perform with others who share the same passion.

Nearly 20 WVU students took to YouTube to debate whether the Mountaineer or Mothman should be the official University mascot. Judges chose the best overall video, as well as the funniest, most creative and honorable mention.

All recent graduates from the Morgantown Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, BS/BA to BSN program and Keyser BSN program passed the Mountain Measurements of the new NextGen National Council Licensure Examination, the nationwide examination for the licensing of registered nurses.

Redshirt sophomore Jordan Titus won the 141-pound championship and three others placed in the top five to lead the wrestling team to its best showing in the competition’s history. The Mountaineers accumulated 100.5 points throughout the two-day event in Illinois to place third over 40 other programs.
