Four West Virginia natives vying to be the 70th West Virginia University Mountaineer mascot will wear buckskins and carry rifles as they compete in a cheer-off during the men’s basketball game versus the University of Central Florida at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 20) in the WVU Coliseum.

The baseball team begins the 2024 campaign with a four-game series at Stetson in DeLand, Florida. Junior Aidan Major will get the ball to begin the season Friday (Feb. 16) for the Mountaineers. He will be followed by two transfer pitchers with junior Tyler Switalski and senior Hayden Cooper taking the mound on Saturday (Feb. 17) and Sunday (Feb. 18).
The 2024 WVU baseball season will feature 26 home games and at least 15 road games broadcast on the ESPN family of networks. The Mountaineers will also be featured on national television three times with broadcasts on ESPN2, ESPNU and FS1.
