Learn how to use R and RStudio for research

library data workshop

WVU Libraries is offering a three-part workshop series for faculty and graduate students who are interested in learning how to use R and RStudio.

RStudio is open-source software that allows you to perform all of the data analysis and visualization functions as licensed and proprietary software programs such as SPSS and STATA for free and on your own personal computer instead of a computer lab.

First Steps with R and RStudio

Participants will be introduced to basic concepts that are necessary to operate R functions as well as an introduction to entering and reading data into R.

Register for the 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, workshop.

Data Cleaning and Analysis with R and RStudio

Participants will learn data cleaning concepts and functions using Base R and the open-source package Tidyverse. The workshop will also include basic data analysis functions built into the software.

Register for the 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, workshop.

Data Visualization and Presentation with R and RStudio

Participants will learn how to visualize data using the open-source package ggplot2 and how to present analysis and findings with the open-source package RMarkdown.
