The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will hold its fifth Mountaineer gear sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 3) in the Diversified Energy Terrace club area of Milan Puskar Stadium following Fan Day. More than 3,000 items will be available from several sports.

The men’s and women’s soccer teams have once again been recognized with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, honoring outstanding performance in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year. With the accolade, the Mountaineer women’s team has been recognized for its 23rd straight year, while the men’s team received the award for the 17th year in a row.
The good news for this year’s football team is that it’s probably the best roster of players, top to bottom, head coach Neal Brown will be fielding since he came here from Troy in 2019. The bad news is those players could be facing the most difficult schedule during Brown’s WVU tenure.
The first international game for the Mountaineers against the Rome Selects has been postponed to 1 p.m. today (Aug. 1) due to travel delays. WVU will play three games during a tour of Italy and Croatia.
The nonconference schedule for the 2024-25 season will feature eight games at the Coliseum, including coach Darian DeVries’ first official game at home against Robert Morris Nov. 4.
The Mountaineers earned the recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of America for the seventh time in the last eight years after posting a team GPA above 3.0 for the 2023-24 season.
