Eight outstanding contributors to Mountaineer Athletics make up the 34th class of honorees in the West Virginia University Sports Hall of Fame. The 2024 class includes Anthony Becht for football, Chris Brooks for men’s basketball, Bob Donker for men’s cross country and track and field, Bette Hushla for swimming, Mark Landers for baseball, Rasheed Marshall for football, Adrian Murrell for football and Liz Repella for women’s basketball.
Representing Team Canada, assistant men’s and women’s swimming coach Sydney Pickrem completed competition at the Summer Olympics with a sixth-place finish in the women’s 200-meter individual medley Saturday (Aug. 3).
WVU Tech Athletics earned the NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star silver rating for the 2023-2024 season. The Champions of Character scorecard measures a commitment to character training, academic focus, character promotion, conduct in competition and character recognition on a scale of 0-100 points.
The women’s basketball team led the whole way after jumping out to a 21-13 lead in the opening quarter. The team returns to the court at 12:30 p.m. today (Aug. 2) to take on Naples Selects in Naples, Italy.
