Effective July 1, any employee who has not used all available floating holiday hours through Applaud will forfeit those hours. The unused hours will be removed from the employee’s available floating holiday balance in the system.
The following two “floating” holidays were previously granted to leave-eligible employees.
Gov. Patrick Morrisey issued a proclamation declaring Jan. 2 as a full-day state holiday for state employees. Since WVU already observed Jan. 2 as a holiday, the University issued a 7.5-hour floating holiday.
Gov. Patrick Morrisey also issued a proclamation declaring April 3 as a half-day state holiday for state employees. Since WVU already observed April 3 as a holiday, the University issued a 3.75-hour floating holiday.
