The University has selected consultant Human Capital Education to deliver the new Slate recruitment and admissions platform on an accelerated timeline, with a goal of shifting operations from the current Salesforce platform before July 1.

Vice President for Enrollment Management Fabrizio D’Aloisio said HCE will work closely with his teams to ensure the system is built to meet University-specific needs, to eliminate manual workarounds and technical bottlenecks, and to ensure that WVU hits critical enrollment targets.

“We are moving away from a complex web of third-party systems toward a unified platform specifically designed for higher education,” D’Aloisio said. “This shift is a significant step in safeguarding the University’s operational health and ensuring our teams have the resources they need to succeed.”

HCE is a Slate Platinum Partner with extensive implementation experience at similar institutions, including a rapid Salesforce-to-Slate transition at Oregon State University that resulted in a 22.7% increase in undergraduate applications in the first year. HCE has a large team dedicated to the WVU project and has committed to strong onsite engagement, including a multi-day session in April, a digital train-the-trainer series, and pre-go-live training.

D’Aloisio said the most critical functions for undergraduate and graduate populations will be built first, before the next admissions cycle. After the July 1 launch, additional functionality will be developed using a “just-in-time” approach, aligned with the specific milestones and requirements of the recruitment and admissions cycle. That ensures that the most relevant tools are delivered when teams need them most, with the full implementation concluding at the end of the calendar year.

Slate provides integrated capabilities for communications, event management, fraud application detection, application management and analytics in a single platform. The transition will simplify the technology environment for recruitment and admissions and dramatically reduce long-term operating and licensing costs.
