The Homestart Closet is a nonprofit, tax-exempt public charity whose mission is to welcome international students and helps them establish their new home in Morgantown with gifts of basic equipment.
Sponsored by the Office of Campus and Community Life in the Division of Student Life, the collaborative effort is led by volunteers.
Volunteers are needed to help with the following:
Organize and stock the closet.
Make deliveries.
Make minor repairs to furniture.
Help to staff open hours.
Complete the volunteer application form.
The community is also encouraged to donate any unwanted items to the closet. The following items are particularly welcome:
Blankets, comforters and sheets.
Pots, pans and skillets, and furniture.
Cash, which allows us to fill in the gaps and fund truck rentals to help with deliveries.
