Information Technology Services strongly encourages any unit planning to purchase new computers this fiscal year to complete those purchases as soon as possible.
As previously announced in ENews, the University’s industry partners, including Dell, have advised that elevated demand for AI-related computing is making certain components, specifically memory and solid state drives harder to obtain.
As a result, industry-wide price increases are expected for most desktop and laptop computers in the near term
ITS is monitoring the situation and will share updates and pricing expectations with business officers as they become available.
