WVU provides free access to Bloomberg

student outside on laptop

Thanks to generous funding from the WVU Chapter of Sigma Nu and the Shawn Clothier Fund, faculty, staff and students will now have free, unlimited access to Bloomberg’s premium journalism and financial insights.

Bloomberg is a leading source for global business, finance and political news.

While especially valuable for business and economics coursework, the platform offers content relevant to a wide range of disciplines and interests across the University.

Faculty are encouraged to share this opportunity with students and consider incorporating Bloomberg content into their courses where appropriate.

Access includes the following:

  • Unlimited access to Bloomberg.com and the Bloomberg mobile app.

  • 24/7 Bloomberg TV streaming.

  • Bloomberg radio, podcasts and narrated articles.

  • Exclusive subscriber-only content and newsletters.

  • Customizable market data and portfolio tracking.

Follow these steps to get started:

1. Visit the Bloomberg account creation site.
2. Enter your WVU email address to verify eligibility.
3. Check your inbox for an eight-digit verification code and enter it.
4. Create a password and confirm the account.

This pilot initiative will be evaluated through usage analytics over the coming year.
