The WVU Hospitality Group team won the “Most Creative Dish” category and People’s Choice Award for “Best Savory Dish” at the 15th annual Taste of Morgantown, which was held Sunday (Sept. 21) at Mylan Park.
The chefs served up roasted venison loin bisteka with a ramp chimichurri sauce alongside jasmine rice, frijoles and madura.
Their menu also included a dessert of maple-ramp panna cotta with a hint of ramp essence and huckleberry coulis.
The venison loin, ramps and maple syrup were sourced locally by West Virginia Harvest.
