Clint Bolyard, a logistical analyst in the West Virginia Army National Guard who joined the Hayhurst LaunchLab as a business development specialist intern through the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program, has accepted a position with WVU Medicine.

“His time with us has been a remarkable example of how the SkillBridge Program creates a meaningful bridge for service members transitioning to civilian careers,” said Anne Jones, director of the Hayhurst LaunchLab.

During his internship, Bolyard played a pivotal role in expanding the LaunchLab’s reach by increasing both the number and range of clients through in-depth research, communications and presentations.

He represented the LaunchLab at major events such as WVU Focus Forward and the Recreational Economies Initiative Summit at Spruce Knob.

In addition to his contributions, Clint’s military background provided invaluable insight into how to streamline and improve internal processes, making the LaunchLab run more efficiently and effectively.

“During my internship with the WVU LaunchLab and working with clients, I learned to pivot and pitch my best attributes and viewpoints during my transition,” Bolyard said. “I was able to secure meaningful full-time employment going forward that positively impacts the West Virginia community, which was a goal of mine.”

“Even as a retiree, reinventing yourself after years in one’s career is possible, and the mentorship and friendships gained while at the LaunchLab is going to be unending for me,” he added.

Programs like SkillBridge play a vital role in supporting the career development of military personnel as they transition to civilian life.

Bolyard’s journey exemplifies the impact such opportunities can have, not only on the individual but also on the organizations they serve.

We congratulate Clint on his new role at WVU Medicine and thank him for his outstanding contributions to the LaunchLab.
