Melody Harshman, an office administrator senior and student conduct case coordinator in the Office of Residence Life, has been selected to be featured in the August Staff Council Classified Staff Showcase.
Originally from Hilton, New York, Harshman has been a valued member of the Housing and Residence Life staff for nearly 10 years. She is dedicated to ensuring students in the residence halls have a safe and supportive home where they feel a sense of belonging.
In her role, she provides essential administrative support focused on student conduct issues occurring in residence halls. Her responsibilities also include assisting with budget management, training new staff, and updating departmental policies and procedures.
Helping parents and students alleviate their concerns and stress through daily interactions is the most gratifying part of her job.
Outside of work, Harshman enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, singing in the West Virginia Community Choir and competing in an adult kickball league.
If you see Melody around campus, give her a shoutout.
Each month, the University will acknowledge the valuable efforts and hard work of a Classified Staff employee with the Classified Staff Showcase.
