First Day Complete launches for fall, faculty reminded about course adoptions

Barnes and Noble Bookstore

The WVU Bookstore First Day Complete program has launched for the Fall 2025 semester to provide all undergraduate students with their required course materials at a low, flat-rate price.

The program provides undergraduate students with a lower-cost, lower-stress approach to obtaining their required textbooks and other course materials, including lab manuals, access codes and digital textbooks, provided on a rental basis.

Students who participated in the program during the 2024-25 academic year saved an average of 22% on course materials.

The cost of First Day Complete, $345 per semester for full-time undergraduate students and $161 per semester for part-time undergraduate students, will automatically be added to students’ semester charges through WVU MyAccount.

Beginning today (July 11), undergraduate students will receive emails to their MIX email accounts with full information on the First Day Complete program, including instructions on selecting their delivery preference — pick-up or delivery — for their course materials. Students must complete this step to finalize their order and receive their materials.

If a student finds a more cost-effective route after comparing the cost of the program to the cost of individually purchasing each required book through the Course Material Finder, students may choose to opt out of First Day Complete through 11:59 p.m. Aug. 30. The opt-out link is available online.

In order to provide students with an accurate picture of anticipated textbook costs for fall 2025, faculty and instructors are reminded to identify their course materials no matter if they are re-adopting the same textbooks/materials they use for a course, making changes to their textbooks/materials or not requiring textbooks/materials.

To submit and confirm Fall 2025 textbook information, faculty/instructors can visit the Adoption Insight Portal accessible through the WVU Portal.

For more information on the program, visit the First Day Complete page. For questions, email FDC@mail.wvu.edu.
