Updated youth guidelines and document templates released to WVU community

To further support the safety and well-being of youth participating in University-affiliated programs, the Division of Campus Engagement and Compliance has updated program policies and guidelines designed to standardize best practices in youth protection.

These guidelines and other released document templates will assist program directors in meeting compliance requirements while ensuring a safe and structured environment for youth engagement.

Youth program directors are encouraged to attend one of the following overview training sessions.

Register to attend from 10-11 a.m. April 17.

Register to attend from 1-2 p.m. April 24.

In addition to these guidelines, the following document templates are available for use:

     • Program emergency preparedness plan.

     • Media release form.

     • Medical treatment authorization form.

     • Transportation form. 

     • Participant attendance sheet.

     • Program staff attendance sheet.

     • Visitor attendance sheet. 

     • Participant code of conduct. 

     • Program staff code of conduct.

These updates align with the University’s commitment to protecting youth present on our campuses or involved in our off-campus programing. 

The Division of Campus Engagement and Compliance will continue to provide resources and guidance to ensure all programs meet WVU policies and regulatory requirements.
