As recently announced, WVU will replace its current identity management platform with a new product, Okta, this summer, to reduce costs and complexity while enhancing security.

Okta requires the use of a personal, non-WVU email account, so please go to login.wvu.edu by May 30, select Manage Account, and ensure that you have a valid non-WVU recovery email address on file. If not, you can create one or Change Recovery Contact Information

The transition to Okta will affect everyone with WVU Login credentials on all campuses, including those with @hsc, @mix and @mail accounts. This also includes admitted students, Research Corp. employees, Sponsored accounts, WVU Foundation employees, Emeritus faculty and staff, non-Emeritus retirees with a @retiree.wvu.edu account, and former students and alumni with active MIX (Google Workspace) accounts.

All existing WVU Login accounts will be moved into Okta on June 1, and most faculty, staff and students won’t need to take any further action until it’s your regularly scheduled time to change your password. After June 1, all new accounts will be activated in Okta, and all password resets will be done in Okta. You will continue to receive password-expiration notices starting at 15 days in your WVU email account, but after June 1, they will direct you to okta.wvu.edu.
