As part of its preparation for its reaffirmation of accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission, WVU has prepared the required self-study, which is now open for feedback and comment from the University community.
Access the report and feedback form on the WVU Accreditation website.
The feedback form will be open for comments through Feb. 17.
The reaffirmation of accreditation process consists of the self-study and a Higher Learning Commission team visit to campus. Associate Provost for Curriculum and Development Louis Slimak, who also serves as the University’s accreditation liaison, has been leading efforts to gather input from across the WVU System to compile the report.
The self-study includes reports from across the University system to demonstrate how the institution is meeting the HLC’s five evaluation criteria:
Mission
Integrity — Ethical and responsible conduct
Teaching and Learning — Quality, resources and support
Teaching and Learning — Evaluation and improvement
Effectiveness — Resources, planning, and Institutional
The HLC team site visit is scheduled for March 31 and April 1.
During the visit, the team will hold meetings with the campus community for general feedback and to discuss specific topics related to the five criteria. Meeting topics, times and locations will be announced once they are finalized.
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate at all points in the accreditation process to demonstrate their pride in the institution and investment in the process.
