Student health insurance waiver available through July 26

Students On Campus

WVU requires all domestic students registered for six or more credits and all international students to have health insurance — either on an existing plan or through the WVU Aetna Student Insurance Plan.

Students who meet the waiver criteria may opt out of the WVU-sponsored Aetna student insurance by completing the Fall 2024 waiver prior to the July 26 deadline.

This applies to employees and dependents of employees taking classes on campus or online and enrolled in at least six credit hours for domestic students and one credit hour for international students, even if you or your dependents have insurance through PEIA.

Email the Student Insurance Office with any questions at SIO@mail.wvu.edu.
