Heather Stephens and Jeffrey Green, deputy executive director of Workforce West Virginia, recently discussed the current state of the labor force in the Mountain State, including the demographic and other trends, during the co-conference hosted by First 2 Network and the West Virginia Jobs Network at Canaan Valley Resort State Park.
“It was a privilege to talk with the conference participants who are focused on retaining first-generation and other STEM students and those working to address workforce development opportunities more broadly in West Virginia and the surrounding states. The work that they are doing is essential to addressing the labor force challenges in the region in order to promote economic opportunity,” Stephens said.
For almost 60 years, the Regional Research Institute has conducted and promoted interdisciplinary research on social and economic issues that are best addressed and advance development policy at the regional level.
