macOS Sonoma update appears today

computer laptop generic

The new macOS Sonoma is being pushed to all WVU-owned or -managed computers today (Nov. 27).

Employees will see a prompt to allow the update but can defer the installation for as many as five times or schedule the installation for a later time, leaving the computer powered on. After five deferrals, the update must be installed.

This OS update can take up to an hour to complete and will require a restart of the computer, so Information Technology Services strongly recommends scheduling a time outside your normal work hours.

If you encounter a problem, call the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444 or contact your college or department IT team, WVU Login required.
