Attend screening of ‘Beyond Walls’

Beyond Walls

The screening of this selection of short films on prison industrial complex abolition, followed by a panel discussion, will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, on Zoom.

The Beyond Walls compilation shares stories of individuals resisting the prison industrial complex while demonstrating the importance of relationships inside and out, as well as the generational harm and next steps to build a world without police and prisons.

The panel will include previously incarcerated individuals involved in abolition and work to decrease suffering.

Register to attend.

The WVU Higher Education in Prison Initiative will host this event in partnership with Working Films, the Appalachian Prison Book Project, the West Virginia Innocence Project, the School of Social Work, the English Department and the American Friends Service Committee.

We hope you will consider attending this event that will educate our communities about the harm of confinement and potential steps forward.
