Pay Statement access changing this weekend

To better secure employees’ personal financial information, off-campus access to the Pay Statement feature in the Portal will soon require the use of the WVU Virtual Private Network.

Starting Sunday (June 25), pay statements will appear within the restricted apps section of portal.wvu.edu and will link to a new report. Employees who are on campus and attached to WVU.Encrypted will be able to reach this site without VPN.

Employees working off campus can connect to the VPN and then access Pay Statement from a desktop or laptop computer. To reach the site from a mobile phone, open a web browser and go to remote.wvu.edu. After you authenticate with Duo, you will select the Pay Statement icon and authenticate again to see your statement.

Testing shows this approach works on iPhones with the Safari browser, but not Chrome. On Android phones, the Chrome and Firefox browsers will work. Please note, however, that there are more mobile phone models and web browser combinations than Information Technology Services can test, and some combinations may not work. If you have problems, try a different browser. If none of the browsers work, you may need to use a laptop or desktop computer for access.
