Travelers with American Airlines who connect to Wi-Fi during their flights are now seeing WVU brand messaging on trips into and out of Charlotte, Chicago, Charleston, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Harrisburg, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Richmond, and Washington, D.C.

The new, large-scale marketing and branding initiative launched July 10 and will continue through Oct. 10.

The campaign includes the University’s current award-winning brand spot along with a direct link to drive audiences to additional information about WVU.

Potential views through the campaign are projected to top 400,000.

“We are thinking bigger and bolder about our ‘Let’s Go!’ brand, and the WVU x American Airlines campaign will allow us to reach new markets that are critical for our recruitment goals and expanding our brand awareness,” Vice President for Strategic Communications and Marketing Heather Richardson said.

“Brand partnerships of this caliber benefit not only WVU, but the people we serve across the Mountain State by highlighting what makes the place we call home so special.”

WVU was invited to consider the partnership due to the University’s recent momentum across academics and athletics, bolstered by Mountaineer alumni within the organization advocating for their alma mater.
