WVU Summer Acting Academy returns this month

Summer Academy

The Summer Acting Academy is a one-week professional theater training program for young actors, ages 7 to 17, who wish to explore and develop their skills in all areas of performance.

Open to students of all levels of theater experience, the Summer Acting Academy provides quality training for the beginning actor, as well as advanced level study for the young actor with previous experience. All classes take place at the Canady Creative Arts Center.

Led by WVU faculty, guest artists and students who are dedicated and skilled in working with young actors, past offerings have included: acting, stage combat, voice and speech, movement, scene work, monologues, character masks, musical theatre, film acting and improvisation.

The School of Theatre and Dance also offers the Summer Dance Academy in July and the Summer Cosplay Academy in August.
