FJN Faculty Talks hosts sociology assistant professor

Faculty Justice Network

The Faculty Justice Network invites the University community to attend the last Faculty Talks event of the semester.

Enkeshi Thom El-Amin, assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, will explore the link between race and place from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (May 4) on Zoom.

Her presentation, “Remembering the Bottom: Street and Feets of the Neighborhood,” will also feature her latest research that examines how Black spaces in Knoxville, Tennessee, were impacted from a three-tier urban renewal project that occurred during the 1950s to the 1970s.

The 2023 Faculty Talks series spotlights the research scholarship of FJN faculty and graduate students.
