The Clothesline Project 2023

Clothesline Project

Help recognize those impacted by sexual harm and gender-based violence by attending the Clothesline Project from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Student Rec Center and Thursday, April 20, at the Downtown Library.

The Clothesline Project is a visual display of violence statistics that often go ignored. Each shirt is made by a survivor of violence or by someone who has lost a loved one to violence. The color of each shirt represents a different type of violence.

If you are interested in decorating a shirt, send an email to dms0072@mix.wvu.edu.

The event is sponsored by WVU in partnership with RDVIC, the WVU Research Center on Violence and the Women’s Resource Center.

The Women’s Resource Center’s Silent Witness Exhibit will also be displayed at the WVU Downtown Library through May honoring West Virginians who were murdered by acts of domestic violence.
