If you are at least 35 years or older, live at home within the Appalachian region and are able to walk without the assistance of others, you are eligible to participate in this study being conducted at the WVU Health Sciences Center by Physical Therapy and Exercise Physiology faculty and students.

Those who choose to participate will receive individualized feedback from a licensed physical therapist regarding the results of their fall and balance testing.

The purpose of this study is to determine characteristics of adults over age 35 who may be at risk for falls. If you choose to participate, you will be asked questions about your health history, fall history and physical activity levels, if applicable. Participants will also be asked to complete several activities to test your balance and walking.

Physical therapists and physical therapy students will be present to help and support you as needed. You only need to complete these tests one time and the entire process will take about 1.5 to 2 hours.
