Attend today’s panel discussion on methane

“Methane: The Other Greenhouse Gas and Why It Matters for West Virginia,” hosted by the WVU Energy Institute and sponsored by the Environmental Defense Fund, will begin at 4:30 p.m. today (March 23) in the Media Innovation Center.   

Panelists will discuss how West Virginia can continue its tradition of being a leader in energy production by increasing the deployment of methane mitigation technologies, which will create good-paying jobs while cutting the waste of a precious state resource. 

Panel members include: 

Derek Johnson, associate professor in the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources and expert in innovative methane monitoring technologies,

Delegate Evan Hansen, state House of Delegates minority chair, Natural Resources Committee and Energy and Manufacturing Committee, principal of Downstream Strategies,

Morgan King, West Virginia Rivers Coalition climate campaign coordinator.

Attendees will also hear a special presentation by Kyle Gillis, WVU alumnus and co-founder of Iconic Air Key.
