University lecture to focus on Jewish art stolen during and after World War II

Wesley A. Fisher, director of research for the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and the World Jewish Restitution Organization, is the presenter for “The Found Museum: Collections throughout the World of Unclaimed ‘Heirless’ Art Looted from Jews by the Nazis and their Allies.”

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, in the Mountainlair’s Gluck Theatre.

Fisher heads the Claims Conference-WJRO Looted Art and Cultural Property Initiative which works with governments, museums, libraries, archives and other repositories of artworks and Judaica in cooperation with Jewish communities worldwide to encourage provenance research and claims processes.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Registration is required due to limited seating.
