Reminder on 2021 Performance Review timeline

Woodburn campus

As West Virginia University approaches the end of the spring semester, the Division of Talent and Culture’s Employee Relations team wanted to remind employees of next steps related to the 2021 performance review process for classified and non-classified staff and certain FE/AP positions.

Beginning Wednesday, May 11, supervisors can begin conducting one-on-one meetings with their direct reports to discuss the employee’s individual performance evaluation.

Note: Performance review discussions will not include details related to any salary adjustments as part of the 2022 WVU Compensation Program. Any merit increases as part of the compensation program will be communicated closer to their target effective date of July 3.

Once the one-on-one performance discussion is completed, supervisors should allow 10 business days for the employee to review their evaluation and provide comments in the performance review system.

The 10-business-day comment period will begin after the employee has received either the email from the performance review system with the link to the comments page or they have accessed the comments page directly from their performance review dashboard in the system.

All reviews will be considered final 15 business days after the employee has completed their performance review discussion with their supervisor.

As a reminder, all reviews are required to be submitted through the electronic process in the performance review system.

Further, all newly-hired (after July 1, 2021) classified and non-classified staff who still are in their probationary period should use the current form and process.

We look forward to continuing the 2021 performance review process in the coming weeks.
