As WVU continues to scale up support inside and outside of the classroom for the thousands of first-generation undergraduates on our campuses, WVU FirstGen invites the community to virtually attend a presentation on advancing first gen support by the First Scholars Network Tuesday, April 26, at 1 p.m.

Participants will learn about the existing WVU structures that support first-generation students and will have the opportunity to discuss ways to improve first-generation resources and programming to help optimize student success.

As a new member of the First Scholars Network, WVU completed a comprehensive diagnostic self-assessment to gather information about our institutional efforts to assist first-generation students. Now that the report is finalized, WVU FirstGen is excited to welcome the First Scholars team to virtually present key findings and recommendations to campus partners.

This report will help shape how WVU prioritizes future efforts to support FirstGen students. Those who attend will have the opportunity to preview what those priorities may be, while also offering their perspectives on best ways to increase access, persistence and completion for our first-generation college students.
