The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Student Government Association and the Peer Advocate Program invite you to attend a Self-Care Fair at the Mountainlair Green April 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair will be moved to the Mountainlair Ballrooms in the event of inclement weather.
The Self-Care Fair, planned as part of this year’s activities for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, will include such things as chair massages, aromatherapy, yoga, meditation, games and prizes.
“Drawing clear boundaries, saying no and learning how to prevent ourselves and others from experiencing harm are all acts of self-care,” said Amy Kittle, assistant director for prevention and education in the division. “A healthy mind-body connection is important for self-care. While promoting and encouraging self-care for all, we are also encouraging awareness and support surrounding issues of sexual assault and interpersonal relationship violence.”
WVU’s Carruth Center, RDVIC, WELL WVU, The Office of Student Success, Campus Recreation and WVU’s Hearts of Gold will also provide resources and self-care activities. The Self-Care Fair has been made possible in part by a grant from the Big 12 Violence and Discrimination Awareness and Prevention Fund.
