Representatives from the Office of Human Research Protections, who work closely with the Institutional Review Board, will provide an overview about research at WVU and discuss the IRB submission process during “A Guide to Human Subject Research at WVU” March 5 at 11 a.m. on Zoom.
Presenters Joseph Malcolm, IRB administrator, and Jessica Williams, assistant director, will share the types of forms to submit with the protocol, such as cover letters, informed consent and data protection. They will also provide a tutorial in navigating the WVU OHRP/IRB website and creating an example protocol in the WVU+KC (Kuali electronic research administration system).
The IRB is charged with reviewing all research that involves human participants and ensuring the rights and privacy of human subjects.
