WVU to host COVID-19 vaccine clinics for young children as CDC authorizes Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 to 11

Vaccine

Following authorization of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 years old by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and U.S. Food and Drug Administration, WVU will host a series of COVID-19 vaccine clinics for this age group in partnership with the Monongalia County Health Department in the WVU Student Recreation Center (lower gym).

Community demand is high for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children, and the initial clinic offerings from the Monongalia County Health Department filled quickly this week.

All upcoming clinics will be posted at book.novelhealth.ai/MCHDC as they become available. Faculty and staff should monitor the site for the latest updates. All appointment times will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

As additional clinics are posted, faculty and staff should follow these instructions to schedule an appointment.

Note: Be sure to select the correct clinic when scheduling your appointment since there will be multiple clinic options. Free parking will be available in Area 49 and lot ST-4.

COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 may also be available through primary care providers. Other vaccination opportunities can be found at vaccines.gov.
