"Teaching Information Literacy," a collaboration between the Teaching and Learning Commons and the WVU Libraries, will be held Oct. 26, from 10-11:30 a.m. This online workshop will present the foundations for integrating information literacy goals and activities in your syllabus.
Information literacy is a relevant skill in all disciplines. Students need to locate and critically evaluate research in order to become responsible consumers and producers of information to advance in their fields.
Presenters include Kelly Diamond, University librarian and head of the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support and Jessica Dai, assistant University librarian and equity and open education librarian
Participants will learn about the framework surrounding the teaching of information literacy and gather resources for creating activities and assessments. There will also be an opportunity to develop and revise course activities and receive feedback from presenters and peers, so feel free to bring an existing assignment or lesson plan.
