The Office of the Provost is excited to announce the launch of the new Faculty Justice Network, offering an inviting space for racially minoritized faculty members to gather and engage in programs and events that address members’ unique social, cultural, academic and professional development needs and interests.

The FJN is designed to strengthen community among its members and encourage positive on-and-off campus experiences, a greater sense of belonging and equity. The goal is to build a more thriving community among faculty who are ethnically and racially marginalized.

Its newly launched website features The Green Pages, a curated guide of places to know and go in Morgantown and the surrounding community, including specialty shops, faith communities and cultural organizations. The FJN site also serves as a hub for those in the network to learn more about upcoming programs and events.

FJN members will engage in monthly meetings, social gatherings, collaborate with organizations on campus and in the local community, as well as host, sponsor, promote and support programs and events aligned with FJN goals.

Upcoming membership meetings will take place this semester on Fridays from 2-3:30 p.m. Mark your calendars and save the date for the following scheduled meetings: Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3. If you are interested in attending, sign up to become a member.

Those who are not racially marginalized faculty members but would like to engage with the FJN can also join as advocates. FJN advocates can support and attend certain FJN initiatives and events, help find more ways to foster meaningful connections, be responsive to membership needs and curate a greater sense of community on and off campus.

If you are interested in becoming a FJN member as a WVU racially-minoritized faculty member and/or administrator, or getting involved as an advocate, graduate student or community member, fill out this form.
