WVU extending COVID-19 testing hours today

In partnership with the Monongalia County Health Department, West Virginia University is extending COVID-19 community testing hours today (Friday, Aug. 20) at the Student Recreation Center (G44). The testing site will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

No appointment is necessary, and free parking is available in Short Term Lots 4 and 9.

Attendees should wear a face mask and practice physical distancing at the testing site. Attendees also should bring identification (driver's license or proof of address).

Beginning Monday, Aug. 23, community testing for WVU employees and Monongalia County residents will be offered at the Student Rec Center: 

  • Mondays – 8 a.m. to noon

  • Tuesdays – noon to 4 p.m.

  • Wednesdays – noon to 4 p.m.

  • Thursdays – 8 a.m. to noon

  • Fridays – 8 a.m. to noon

Students who are symptomatic or who have been identified as a close contact to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 also are welcome at the clinics. 

As a reminder, students and employees who will be on campus this fall but have not verified they are vaccinated for COVID-19 must deliver a printed copy of a negative test result to a WVU health care professional prior to 3 p.m. today at one of the following drop-off locations:
