5th Fridays professional development series continues July 31

building

An engaging new professional development series introduced in May, Talent and Culture’s Leadership and Organizational Development team will continue 5th Fridays from 10-11:30 a.m. July 31 with “Safe to Speak: Building Psychological Safety at WVU.”

This 90-minute interactive session for faculty and staff will discuss when and how employees feel safe to speak up, raise concerns, ask questions, and admit mistakes without fear of judgment.

Research shows psychological safety is the single strongest predictor of how well a team performs, even beyond talent, structure, or leadership style.

Grounded in research from Harvard’s Amy Edmondson and Google’s Project Aristotle, participants will engage in honest conversations about how we can build spaces where people are empowered to do their best work.

What does it mean to feel safe enough to speak up, ask questions, or admit a mistake at work? And whose job is it to build that? Join the team to discuss these questions and more.

Register to reserve your spot.

The professional development series is offered during months with a fifth Friday. These sessions create intentional space for employees to step away from day-to-day work, connect with colleagues, and engage in meaningful learning.
