Rec Center 20th

Faculty and staff are invited to join President Gee and the Mountaineer Mascot from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday (Aug.17) for the Student Rec Center 20th Anniversary Celebration, which includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony for new and renovated courts at the Evansdale Residential Complex.

The program will include remarks from Gee, Dean of Students Corey Farris, and Director of Campus Recreation Andy Darling, followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Attendees will also have an opportunity to  take photos with the Mountaineer, enjoy complimentary light refreshments and a chance to take home one of only 2,001 limited edition 20th anniversary t-shirts to celebrate this special milestone.

“We are really excited to be able to roll out the Towers Rec and Fitness Courts, especially at this time,” Darling said. “The project has been in the works for a few years with the emphasis on outdoor activities. It will be great to offer our students this additional option with a lot of flexibility to meet their various interests, including pre-planned programs via the mobile app, participation in custom routines and taking part in instructor-led classes.”
