Students and faculty in the WVU Fashion, Dress and Merchandising Program, in collaboration with Vantage Ventures and the Royal University of Women in Bahrain, will present their first virtual fashion show, “Restructuring the Future of Fashion,” at 7 p.m. Thursday (May 6) on YouTube.
The virtual runway presentation will showcase innovative student garment designs focused on the exploration of technology, sustainability and handcraft.
“We are engaging fashion and technology as part of a new age - digitally-inspired fashion,” said Colleen Moretz, associate professor of fashion, dress and merchandising in the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design. “We are creating an experience for viewers to see how we intersect the future of FashionTech on a multinational stage as we introduce the student designs. We want the viewer to experience and imagine about how technology is influencing and being incorporated into design.
